DELab UW is pleased to report important progress in the creation of the Digital Skills Assessment Tool (DSAT), as part of the Erasmus+ co-funded project "Upskilling workers of SMEs with low Digital intensity" (USMED). The DSAT, currently under advanced development, will support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the accommodation and food services sector, empowering them in the ongoing digital transformation.

The DSAT is a specialized diagnostic tool based on the European Digital Competence Framework (DigComp 2.2), meticulously adjusted to address the unique demands of the accommodation and food sector. The tool provides a comprehensive assessment of employees' digital competencies across three crucial domains: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude, collectively contributing to the development of a robust Digital Mindset.

Through evaluating Knowledge, DSAT measures the theoretical understanding of digital tools and processes relevant to the sector. The Skills domain assesses the practical capability of employees to effectively apply digital solutions in their daily tasks. Finally, by examining Attitude, the DSAT evaluates openness and adaptability toward digital transformation among the workforce, which is critical in shaping a proactive Digital Mindset.

The comprehensive nature of DSAT will enable employers and employees within the Accommodation & Food industry to precisely identify digital competency gaps, facilitating targeted training and professional development interventions.

The finalization and official launch of the DSAT are scheduled for the upcoming months.

DELab UW is committed to actively contributing to the digital empowerment of the sector's workforce, ensuring enhanced competitiveness and adaptability in an increasingly digitized market environment.
