The USMED consortium is working to create over 60 open educational resources dedicated to the digital transformation of SMEs in the accomodation and food sector.
The USMED project has entered one of its most crucial phases: the development of the Learning Experiences Catalogue. Driven by the goal of bridging the digital skills gap in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Accommodation & Food (A&F) sector, the consortium is working to create a tailored, accessible, and innovative training ecosystem.
At the heart of this phase is the production and collection of at least 60 Open Educational Resources (OER), practical and engaging micro-learning tools designed to meet the real needs of the sector and that will be available in English and translated into all languages of the partnership (Italian, Spanish, Romanian, German, Turkish, and Polish). The catalog will include diverse formats such as:
-
Interactive modules and video tutorials;
-
Case studies and real-life scenarios;
-
Gamified simulations and digital toolkits.
Each resource is designed to be modular and adaptable, so that flexible learning paths can be built, from basic to advanced competence levels.
The resources will cover five key areas of digital competence, identified through the project's Digital Skills Assessment Tool (DSAT) - Information and data literacy, Communication and collaboration, Digital content creation, Security (cybersecurity) and Problem solving.
The USMED project involves the integration of resources from other European projects of excellence and an Open Call aimed at external stakeholders, in order to gather the best training practices already existing at EU level.
The ultimate goal of this development phase is not only to create an archive, but also to structure Tailored Learning Pathways.
These resources will be organized into specific itineraries (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced) to guide workers in this sector toward full digital autonomy, improving the competitiveness of their companies in an increasingly technological market.
